The Difference Between Champagne and Sparkling Wine

What comes to mind when you think of New Year’s Eve? Sparkling wine, of course! But while many people may use the terms “sparkling wine” and “champagne” interchangeably, there is actually a difference between these two types of bubbly beverages. Sparkling wines can come from all over the world, while champagne originates exclusively in France.

To learn more about the distinction between sparkling wine and champagne, read on!

Call 317-822-5070 to Hear About Our New Year's Drink Specials!
Call 317-822-5070 to Hear About Our New Year’s Drink Specials!

Champagne Versus Sparkling Wine

The main difference between sparkling wine and champagne is the location in which they are produced. Sparkling wines can be made anywhere, while champagne must be created in Champagne, France within a specific region to legally be called “champagne”.

Sparkling wines have the same ingredients as Champagne (Chardonnay or Pinot Noir grapes and yeast) but without the Champagne label. Sparkling rosé is a type of sparkling wine that has a pink hue, due to the juice from the red grapes used for production. Sparkling wines come in varying tastes, styles, and more than just your standard white or rosé options.

Champagne also varies in taste and style but must be produced within the Champagne region of France. Sparkling wine is usually more affordable than champagne, as it does not need to come from a specific area. Additionally, Sparkling wines have different levels of sweetness depending on their production process.

Shopping Around for Good Bubbly

When shopping for sparkling wines or types of champagne, consider your tastes and preferences first. Sparkling wines come in a variety of flavors, including dry and sweet varieties. Champagne also comes in several styles, such as brut (a drier sparkling wine) or demi-sec (a sweeter option). No matter what you choose, be sure to choose wisely so that you may enjoy the bubbly!

A Sip of Knowledge

So, there you have it — Sparkling wine and champagne may seem similar, but they actually come from different places and vary in taste. Sparkling wines can be a great choice for any occasion, while champagne is typically reserved for very special moments like New Year’s Eve or celebrations. Hopefully this article has cleared up the confusion between sparkling wine and champagne and helped you to select the perfect bubbly for any occasion!

4. Thanksgiving Tacos

Start by heating up some tortillas in the oven or on the stove. And of course, don’t forget the mashed potatoes! Thanksgiving tacos are a delicious way to use up your leftovers, and they’re sure to be a hit with the whole family. So, why not give them a try this year?

5. Frittata

What to do with all those Thanksgiving leftovers? Make a frittata! A frittata is a great way to use up leftover cooked veggies, meat, and even mashed potatoes. Plus, it’s an easy and delicious way to feed a crowd. Here’s how to make a Thanksgiving Leftover Frittata:

First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Then, in a large skillet, sauté some chopped onion and garlic in olive oil until softened. Add in any leftover cooked veggies you have on hand – think green beans, carrots, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and so forth. Once the veggies are heated through, add in some chopped leftover turkey or chicken. If you have any mashed potatoes left over, stir them in now.

Finally, crack 8-10 eggs into the pan and scramble everything together until the eggs are set. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour the frittata mixture into a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!

Today is National Coming Out Day, a day when both members and supporters of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrate their identities, show pride in who they are, and demonstrate advocacy for gay rights. This day is an important reminder that everyone should be free to be who they are, and that we all deserve to be treated with respect.

Supporters like yourself and millions of others around the nation advocate that everyone should be free to be their authentic selves, and that love is love, no matter what form it takes. Most importantly, this day is meant to send a message of love and acceptance to those who are still “in the closet.”

LGBTQIA+ Pride

Gay pride has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the gay rights movement of the 1970s, though there’s still a long way to go before everyone is truly equal. Today, gay pride is celebrated all over the world, with massive parades and festivals that attract millions of people. And while there is still much progress to be made in terms of LGBTQIA+ rights, National Coming Out Day is a reminder that the LGBTQIA+ rights movement has made incredible progress in recent years.

So today, let’s celebrate all of the progress we’ve made, and recommit ourselves to the fight for equality for all. We’ll keep fighting until everyone can live their truth freely and without fear.

Support For Those Who are Ready to Come Out

✤ The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is a national organization that works to promote understanding and acceptance of LGBTQA+ people.

✤ The Trevor Project is a national organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQA+ young people.

✤ The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is a national organization that works to promote equality for LGBTQA+ people.

If you are a vodka drinker, continue below to review some of the most interesting facts about vodka, including its noted health benefits, how to use it to clean your house, and some quick recipes that always hit the spot. Even if you don’t like vodka, these fascinating vodka facts might change your mind about keeping some on hand!

Facts About Vodka That Will Enhance Your Appreciation for the Spirit

Vodka is made by the distillation of plant matter that is rich in starch or sugar. Plant matter commonly includes various types of grains, such as corn, rye, and wheat, or other foodstuffs, like potatoes, grapes, and soybeans. Since its origin, it has been used in many applications other than beverages, including several health remedies, antiseptics, anesthetics, beauty aids, and even cleaning! That’s right; you can use vodka to clean around the house!

Vodka Can Be Used as a Multi-Purpose Cleaner

Vodka has a high alcohol content, usually between 30% and 40% by volume. This high alcohol content is what makes it an effective cleaning agent. Vodka can be used to clean all kinds of surfaces, such as countertops, plumbing, metal décor, art fixtures, windows, floors, mirrors, and even clothing. It effectively eliminates dirt, grime, mold, mildew, adhesives, grease, odors, and more.

To make your vodka cleaner, all you need is a clean plastic spray bottle and of course, some vodka. Any brand will do, even the cheap stuff! You will also need your conventional cleaning supplies, like rags, sponges, and rubber gloves. Fill the spray bottle up with your vodka of choice and get ready to clean!

Vodka Can Be Good For Your Health

Vodka can be used therapeutically or to treat minor ailments, from bad breath and dandruff, to headaches, toothaches, stress, and even fevers. If you look at its chemical makeup, you might better understand why it can be applied to certain health remedies and uses. Not only does its ethanol composition give vodka several useful properties, but it is also carbohydrate-free and sugar-free, which helps to support nutrition.

It is Simple to Make Your Own Flavored Vodka

You can take any vodka, top shelf or not, and infuse it with your own combination of flavors and essences. The process is so simple, it can be compared to making homemade lemonade! To get started, all you need is 750 ml of vodka (3 cups), your choice of produce, a strainer, and some mason jars. Just be sure to stay under 80 proof vodka so that the taste isn’t too strong or bitter. Use anything to infuse your vodka creation, from cucumbers and mint to ginger, lemon, fruits, honey, vegetables, herbs, and spices. The general rule of thumb, 2 cups of chopped fruit to every 3 cups of vodka.

Are you looking for a delicious and local vodka cocktail at a great price?
